» kiri72 - I need help and info on pcos

i only found out about 5 months ago that i have Pcos and my doctor told me nothing about it but said i need to go on the pill to regulate my periods. i have been using the net to find out more about it but none of it mentioned the quickness of depression and sesitivity. i a only 20 and do not think i should be feeling this way and are unsure about a lot of things at he moment. the doctor said that i only have the cycts around my right ovary burt lately i have been haing these sharp pains on the left hand side too. is that normal? should i be going back to the same doctor and asking her these questions or should i get a GP to fill me in with whats happening to me?

Kiri72, PCOS can be a devistating diagnosis, no matter how old (or young) you are. Depression, sensitivity, and moodiness are all normal feelings, but they should be addressed by your doctor.

Do not see a GP, they are not trained in treating PCOS, which is an endocrine disorder. Your best bet is to find either an Endocrinologist (or a Reproductive Endocrinologist especially if you want to conceive).

You can also find some great support groups online that can answer many of your questions and will also allow you to see that what you are feeling is normal and that many have been there before.

One great site is http://www.soulcysters.com

Best of luck to you!!
