» ladyluthor - Nuva Ring

I have been on this ring now for over a year, at first it was great I didn't have to worry about the patch coming off of taking the pill. However in the last serveral months I have been very unhappy and moody alot. The smallest things have put me into a bad mood and I find myself not wanting to have sex with my husband of two years at all. I don't ever want him to touch me at all, I know this doesn't happen to everyone but I feel I should at least write down want I have been going though in the last months so that if someone else gets this was they will know what needs to be done. If you feel this way talk to your doctor as soon as you can.

» newone24 - Nuva Ring Smell?

In response to Nuva Ring Smell? posted by Dancer2:

I am on my second dose. the first month I was on my period for 4 weeks. All during that I was using pads when I usually use tampons so I thought that was the smell. This month I'm not bleeding but the smell is still there, plus I'm having discharge, but its a weird lubricant like cischarge not infection like. My doctor said to just wait it out and see if my body adjusts to it......so if you get any better suggestions let me know.

» laurajo521 - No problems so far with NuvaRing

I was having trouble with my blood pressure and my doctor said no more birth-control pills. After getting my BP under control, my GP said that the only safe birth-control option for me is NuvaRing. I started taking it this month, and I love it.
When I first put it in, it took a while to get used to, but now I have to check to make sure it's still there. I haven't had sex with it yet, although my friends did tell me that sometimes it does come out when things get rough. However, both of them said when it came out their hubbies asked what it was because they had never noticed it before. So, that made me hopeful.
I have such hideous periods that anything would be a welcome change. I have horrible migraines, but they seem to be caused by hormones, so birth control generally helps me with them. Before I started taking it, my period had been going on for several days and was still heavy. After I put it in, it stopped the next day. My mood is much better and I haven't had a migraine or acne or anything yet.
I haven't had my off-week yet, so maybe things will be different then, but I've tried a lot of birth control and so far this has been the least side effects and definitely easiest to use. I like pills, but I never remember them, and it makes you really sick if you miss them.
If you're thinking about trying it, you get your first month free from the Nuvaring web site, so you should definitely try it and see if it works for you. Everyone's different.

Thank you for your comment ladyluthor, i have been on nuvaring for about 4 months and at first have not noticed any side effects, until lately when i have been getting pissed off at anything and to top it off i too don't feel like have sex with my husband. I did think it could be a side effect from nuvaring but no other web site put it down as one. I'll take your advise and will make an appointment with my doctor. Thanks!

» PHLAVOUR - Absotluty Crazy!!

Hi. I have been on the Nuva Ring since Sept 06. Since then my body has gone absolutly crazy!! for the first few months I was fine. I didn't feel it and did have any side effect.. so I thought!! Come November it feels like my body did a tottal flip!! I began to have irritation... burning and stinging paing during and after intercoure. I agree with a posting (made by maylene502 on Dec 6th) It was horrible. I felt slugish and tierd all the time and to top it off I broke out in HIVES 3 times. Finally I pinpointed it on the ring. Went to my doctor and they said that was my body reacting to it! I am changing out of this in the next couple of weeks. I agree with some- THIS IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.... Good Luck!!!
