I have been on the nuvaring since May 2004...I have thought it was the most wonderful thing invented. In the last 6 months I have experiances some of the issues that some of the posting listed...Memory loss, disorginzation, sever headaches, MOODYness. I really did not think that it was the ring but now I am wondering. I was dismissing it as my body changing since I have turned 30. I have not had a regular P since January. Has any one gone with out having a P since they have been on the ring. I have a discharge but do not bleed. My doctor told me that it is nothing to worry about and that I am not pregnat. It just has me wondering if I should switch to something or get off BC for a month or so to let my body regulate or just enjoy not haveing one.

» frankcat - Caused a HUGE DVT --could have died
PLEASE go to your drs. I have used the Nuva ring for 9 monthhs and have experienced everything you mention. I have had weird periods (comes the day i have to reinsert) discharge (have it checked--not normal) and then wound up hospitalized for 10 days. clot was from my calf to my vena cava (near my heart). Had to have emergency surgery to bust the clot. I have had no risk factors and have been on BC since i was 18. I am 35 and non smoker. I just submitted a medwatch to the FDA. People need to be made aware of the dangers. Think about it: a pill needs to go thru your system. this goes straight to your blood stream (like the patch and now they are being sued for high incident rates of clots). Young women, not just old ones like me at 35 are having DVTS.
Just thought i would put it out there. The world needs to know so no others are hurt.

Thanks so much. I do think that I am suffering from hair loss. But my next question would be is it permanent or temporary?
