» aynat75 - MEMORY LOSS

I too have experienced a decrease in sex drive. Sometimes I'm just not interested in sex. I can take it or leave it and not care either way, that's not like me. One think I have noticed that no one else has stated is MEMORY LOSS. I can't recall a lot of things that happened sometimes YESTERDAY. I thought that this was due to my pregnancy, but shoot my daughters 2.5 yrs old now and still I'm like "I can't remember.....". Is anyone experiencing MEMORY LOSS TOO?

In response to MEMORY LOSS posted by aynat75:

I have been on the nuvaring since May 2004...I have thought it was the most wonderful thing invented. In the last 6 months I have experiances some of the issues that some of the posting listed...Memory loss, disorginzation, sever headaches, MOODYness. I really did not think that it was the ring but now I am wondering. I was dismissing it as my body changing since I have turned 30. I have not had a regular P since January. Has any one gone with out having a P since they have been on the ring. I have a discharge but do not bleed. My doctor told me that it is nothing to worry about and that I am not pregnat. It just has me wondering if I should switch to something or get off BC for a month or so to let my body regulate or just enjoy not haveing one.

» frankcat - Caused a HUGE DVT --could have died

hi,

PLEASE go to your drs. I have used the Nuva ring for 9 monthhs and have experienced everything you mention. I have had weird periods (comes the day i have to reinsert) discharge (have it checked--not normal) and then wound up hospitalized for 10 days. clot was from my calf to my vena cava (near my heart). Had to have emergency surgery to bust the clot. I have had no risk factors and have been on BC since i was 18. I am 35 and non smoker. I just submitted a medwatch to the FDA. People need to be made aware of the dangers. Think about it: a pill needs to go thru your system. this goes straight to your blood stream (like the patch and now they are being sued for high incident rates of clots). Young women, not just old ones like me at 35 are having DVTS.

Just thought i would put it out there. The world needs to know so no others are hurt.

If you want to chat you can email me at frankcat@optonline.net

» danielle_rvr - Pain in my shoulder

I just started using the ring and this is my second time using it. I have been experiencing some severe pain in my right shoulder. My Doctor told me that it could just be a muscle spasm and gave me meds to releive the pain and muscle relaxers. Nothing is working and I am now taking Vicodin for the pain. I went for exrays and have to wait a week for the results. Is it possible that this could be related to the ring? Has anyone else had this problem? I have never had problems with my shoulder in the past?? Can anyone help.

Please reply to danielle_rvr@yahoo.com

Thanks!

» Feature Writer Joanna Karpasea-Jones - nuva ring

In response to A Week early posted by danielle_rvr:
Here is some side-effect info on the nuva ring that I got from Rx List, the internet drug Index, which I hope is helpful.

» apesamb - Nuva Ring Side Effects

I have been on the Nuva Ring for a little over a year. I really liked it at first, but I started having a lot of discharge and pain. I went to the doctor who was shocked that I didn't have some kind of vaginal infection. She thought it was just irritation that would go away. I have used the ring for months after that and things keep getting worse. I have really bad pain, stinging and buring, during and after intercourse and am very dry. I have tons of discharge that makes me itch all the time. I am relieved to see all the other people with no sex drive because I was starting to wonder what was happening to me! I can't wait to go off of the ring at the end of this month. I am going back on the patch. I can't handle the side effects anymore!

» melikay16 - Am I experiencing side effects?

I just started Nuva Ring April 22, 2007. As soon as I started using the ring, I noticed excessive discharge. It can be quite uncomfortable at times. Around ten days ago I started feeling nauseated and very fatigued. I want to sleep all the time. I also started feeling a tightness in my lungs, similar to how it feels when you have bronchitis. I cough, which is sometimes productive(I am able to cough something up), but most of the time not. I have been running a very mild fever every day as well. I have been having headaches, and although I am prone to migraines, i think I may be having them more often. I am sure the discharge is a symptom of the nuva ring, but are the other symptoms caused by the nuva ring, or do I just have bronchitis or something along those lines? I don't know so please help because I do not want to keep using it if I am going to continue to feel this way!!!

Thanks so much. I do think that I am suffering from hair loss. But my next question would be is it permanent or temporary?
