» pink_82484 - Having NO side affects to the Nuva Ring
In response to anything posted by ashton2487:Also, to answer some elses question, it does not start working as soon as you put it in. I think the literature says continual use for 7 days. It also depends if you are switching from another form of birth control. If and when you get your nuva ring from the pharmacy, read the literature insided the package, it will tell you specifics!!!
I know there is a lot of extra info in here, but oh well, better to be over informed than the opposite!!!
Thanks

» sweetanik - My Experience has been Wonderful
In response to Having NO side affects to the Nuva Ring posted by pink_82484:I do have the additional discharge... but a friend made an interesting observation (probably wrong - but interesting) that the ring might be adding pressure on the g-spot and that could explain the discharge?! Wouldn't that be great! lol!
I never took the pill for more than a few weeks because I found it made me sick - so the freedom of finally being able to be intimate with my very patient BF (it has been 4 years of condoms!) may be what is driving my weightloss, and great mood... but all I can say is I love the ring.

» ReadingUp - Nuva Ring mood changes/bleeding
Nuva Ring had been working more or less regularly for almost a year now
with just occasional spotting and longer menses time
BUT the mood changes have been worse than anything else I have been on
Anger to depression, and I hit someone in the face and smashed things in the second month, after I realized it was the birth control I controlled myself better, but it is still terrible
The physician I see off the record recommended trying out the skip the period method so that I do not go from hormones to nothing to try to alleviate mood shift associated to drop in hormones
This has caused prolonged neverending bleeding
it is heavier last longer, and never quite stops although i know it should be over by the strangeness of it
where do you find the best medium?
I believe that not allowing a break before replacing hormones means there has been no high spike at the right time to stop the bleeding and heal inside
so....mood changes...or forever bleeding?

» mag4200 - nuva ring - amazing!
I was on the pill for about 5 years before i started nuva ring, and i hated it. I always forgot to take the pill and i was always worried about getting pregant. Most people don't know, but with the pill, it needs to be taken aroudn the same time everyday to be the most effective. The nuva ring took so much stress off me cause i didn't have to remember to do anything but once a month. (and they give you little in and out stickers to put in your daily planner).
I see alot of people complaining about the nuva ring on here. The nuva ring isn't for everyone. Each person is made different and react to different types of birth control. I think whichever birth contorl works best for you, you should use that. I didn't have any side effects, moodiness, long periods, etc. BUT.. for people like me, who always forget the pill, try the nuva ring to see if it works, and if not, you can always switch back to your other method of birth contorl.
Overall, i think the nuva ring is amazing!
