my doctor said it was important to wear a condom during the first 7 days after inserting nuva ring. well on the 7th night i had intercourse and although we used condoms, i've been feeling stressed that somehow some sperm had gotten on the outside of them because there was no hand-washing between 'sessions'... a couple of nights later i had sex again but did not use anything, although my partner did not cum in me. i have been extremely paranoid all week and my aching breasts have not helped the situation at all. i'm scared to take a pregnancy test... someone please help!!

I have been on the nuva ring for over a year and I am having the same brown discharge and pain as you. I went to the dr and they are still stumped. My stats are normal. When I took the ring out for my period, the brown discharge stopped and I wasnt getting the pain until i put it in again sunday night. I thought i was getting the discharge/blood from my high stress, but after I put it in again (a new one) and read your post. I believe that it is the ring. If you find more cases or posts like this let me know, we may have a case against nuva ring. Also, has it been a lot of blood for you? I lost my appetite and between the bleeding and change in appetite, I lost almost 15 lbs since July 8th. Not the way I wanted to loose the weight. let me know if it worsens tchick713@yahoo.com.
they say the chemical make up of the product hasnt changed, but this is my first problem with it and its been well over a year.

OMG! Get a grip on yourself and stop acting like a baby. Instead of asking for someone else to hold your hand, why don't you go down to the store and get a flipping pregnancy test, or call your doctor and discuss it with them. How old are you anyway? You don't even sound mature or responsible enough to be having sex with the way you get "stressed out". I'm going to assume that most areas of your life are filled with lots of drama. You can't go through life with the "red alert" siren on all the time. Time to grow up and get a hold of yourself.

» KateFab - My experience with NuvaRing...
Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've been using the ring for about two years now, and at first I had none of the side effects that I had on the pill. Sex drive was great, no mood swings, no weight gain, etc. After about 6 months I began to steadily gain weight, experience intense mood swings, and lose all interest in sex. I've been trying to put up with the side effects for some time now, as the ring really is convenient. I try to manage my weight by eating well, exercising when I can and riding my bike everywhere.
However, I'm at the end of my rope.. I'm making my boyfriend of 3 years suffer, and have recently been experimenting with other, less healthy methods of controling my weight and ravenous appetite. As someone with a history of eating disorders/distorted body image, this scares me. I have a hard time losing weight as it is because I'm already on the small side.
I'm pretty certain that I'll be going off of the ring next week, and am waiting to hear from my doctor in regard to whether this is a good idea. I'm curious to see if the side effects subside once I discontinue use. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks!

I am experiencing the same thing! It burns and itches and it looks kind of like a rash. It does feel like little cuts that just wont go away. Now that you have stopped using Nuvaring has it gotten better?
