- I had a stillborn in January.
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss.
It is extremely unlikely you are pregnant. After giving birth it can take weeks or even months for your periods to return. Even when a woman is not breast feeding, her periods can take 8 or 10 weeks to resume after a birth.
With miscarriages and stillbirths it is the same as there are still all the usual child-bearing hormones in the body which suppress the period. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks gestation in 2003 and it took 6 months for my period to return afterwards and about the same length of time for the pregnancy tests to stop testing positive.
I can only imagine the grief you are going through and how much you must want to be pregnant. Give yourself and your body time to regulate again and I think you will find in a few months you will be pregnant again.
If you are at all concerned, please contact your doctor for additional advice.
My heartfelt sympathies to you and your family.
Joanna Karpasea-Jones.
