Ok everyone. Heres my story Since the age of 18 I've been on birth control pills because I never got a period. My Doctor said that I have some kind of symptom that won't give me estrogen to produce hormones in my body. He said I was born with only one chromosome called X ...Basically that I am missing the second chromosome. I've tried to do extensive research online, and I came across the Turner Syndrome. Well I'm tired of taking BirthControl pills...I hear of all these side effects that are involved, heart attack, stroke...and I swear sometimes I get these sharp pain in my chest like its my heart literally!! I've had it checked out a couple of years ago, and the doctor told me that nothing is wrong with my heart...he told me to do cardiovascular exercises...well I stopped taking birth control 4 months ago and I have not gotten a period! I dont know what to do! I'm sick of birth control, I mean does this mean I cant ever get pregnant? To top it off I have anemia. I am wondering if there is an alternative to estrogan to produce hormones? I am hoping there is a natural remedy like herbal or something that can help me with this. If anyone has any answers please help me!! Thank You!-- posted by gingercity

Your doctor doesn't sound very thorough. If I were you, I'd insist on a referal to a hospital specialist to determine exactly what your condition is.
He says you are missing a chromasome but doesn't say what your illness is called? That's unprofessional. I would see another doctor, find out exactly what you have and then you can go from there as to what to do about your periods and possible fertility issues. It would be difficult to speculate on this when you are having to guess at what's wrong with you.
I would also insist on another heart check if you have been having chest pain. It may be caused by a twisted back (this then pulls on the chest muscles, causing pain - I suffer from this), but obviously any chest pain is concerning and should be investigated.
