i didnt know if im still protected in the last week on the contraceptive pill cuz i usually dont get my period till the third tablet and i didnt know if it was still safe to have sex with out a condom in those days?

how do i miss a period. do i just skip the non-active pills. and if i do this will i still be protected?

I would think that you would be protected against pregnancy as the contraceptive pill is supposed to be 99% effective.

If you are ill, though, it doesn't always work so if you have a cold or are taking antibiotics, I would use a condom.

I wouldn't skip any pills, just take the course you normally take or speak to your doctor about it.

There are some new types of pill in which you can skip out your period altogether, although I would be worried that stopping a function like this may have adverse effects that people have not considered yet. If you are interested, it might be worth discussing the different types of pill with your healthcare provider.
